He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Robert D. Neikes and Elizabeth Judd Neikes; and his son James R. Neikes (Biff). He is survived by: his wife Jacalyn M. Atkins; his daughter Melissa Neikes; his stepdaughter Julie Rae Brownfiled; his grandchildren, Elianna Mae, Dahlia Rayne, Tyler Jordan and Janessa Mae; his siblings, Martha Romanov, David Neikes, Thomas Neikes (Joom) and Caroline Neikes; and his close friend Sirpa Duoos.
