When Arthur Richard Auvil was born on June 15, 1939, in Los Angeles, California, his father, Arthur, Hannibal Auvil was 23 and his mother, Mary Aileen Spinks, was 16. He was married six times and is survived by his two daughters, Sharon and Lisa, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He served in the US Marines, listed as an e1, in the late 1950s. He was fond of eagles and woodcarving.

He died on August 30, 2021, in Ashland, Oregon, at the age of 82, he is known to have sustained suspected mental illness, a stroke, and several heart conditions before his time in the nursing home where he passed away.
