He was predeceased by: his sister Patricia Parrett; and his parents, Walter Spurgeon and Margaret Spurgeon. He is survived by: his wife Deborah A. Spurgeon; his children, Jennifer Maxfield of Cincinnati and Stephen Spurgeon (Christine) of Albany, Oregon.; his grandchildren, Elizabeth and Elliot; and his siblings, Walter Spurgeon Jr. of Ross, John Spurgeon of Kettering and Caroline Fitzjarrell of Cincinnati. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
