He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry H. Hegefeld and Lillian Hegefeld (Droste); his wife Karen Gerard; and his sister Donna McMilliion (Hegefeld). He is survived by: his sister Donna Jean; his daughters, Teresa Salyer (Hegefeld) and Jennifer Burch (Jeff); and his grandchildren, Kirsten Burch (Jake Williams), Jacob Burch, Levi Salyer and Cade Burch.

Memorial Donations may be made to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice.
