He was predeceased by: his parents, Christian C. Gerig and Ida Ellen Gerig (Boshart); his wife Sara Ellen Gerig (Mitchell); and his siblings, Evelyn Gerig, Hazel Eby and Irvin Gerig.
He is survived by: his children, Ellen Gerig of Albany and Stanley Gerig of Albany; and his siblings, Clarence Gerig (Doris), Dean Gerig (Nadine), Ruth Birky and Laura Rhodes.
It was difficult for him in 2020 when both COVID-19 and failing health prevented him from attending regularly.
