He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto DeShon and Gertrude DeShon; his former wife Barbara DeShon (Jackson); his spouse Vena Plattner; and his brother Frank.

He is survived by: his children, Joyce, Carol "Nia" DeShon and Norman DeShon (Judy); his stepdaughters, Nancy Sadowski (Joe) and Cindy Nollen (Mike); and his brother Galen DeShon (Roberta). He is also survived by sister, Louise Camp, his grandchildren and some long-time friends.
