He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gordon Hoefer and Hazel Hoefer of Albany; his sister Pat Ford; his wife Dena Hoefer; his brother Jack Hoefer (Rita); and his children, Bobby Hoefer (Shari), Ryan Hoefer, Shari Jones Tonee Nollen and Sherri Perlenfein.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
