He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Forrest Elbert Shrout and Faun Shrout (Daub); his former wife Rosalie Gugel; his children, Michael, Stephen, Cyndee, Rebecca, Jonathan, Joseph, Laura, David, Mary, Don Page, Patrice Page, Daniel Page and Thomas Shrout; his wife Judy; and his uncle William Shrout. He was also cherished by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
