She is survived by: her husband Erik Cole; her son Scott Dyksterhuis; her siblings, Stephen Schendel, William Schendel, Ginger Saragosa and Janette Fox; and her siblings-in-law, Barb Schendel, Debby Kemper and Ruben Saragosa.

She also received the Diamond Pioneer Award honoring people whose lifetime contributions to agriculture, natural resources, and the people of Oregon and/or Oregon State University have been significant.
