He was predeceased by: his wife Marta Robelo Hughes; his siblings, Ginny Bergen and Bill Hughes; and his parents, George Hughes and Mary Clementine Hughes.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sue-Yin Margareta Hughes and Saida Hughes; his granddaughter Lucita Hughes-Fahey; his adoptive daughters, Raquel Davila, Lucia Davila and Mercedes Medina Robelo; his sister-in-law Lucia Robelo; his niece Melissa Robelo Moncada; his nephew Javer Moncada; his great-nephew Felix David Moncada; his great-niece Adriana; and his sisters, Peggy Nibaur and Donna Cashman.
