It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of David Dewayne Hughes of Albany, Oregon, born in North Sacramento, California, who passed away on August 12, 2021, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Roy, LaVon Hughes, Charles and Reta Patterson; and his son Bryan T. Grant Hughes Claussen.
He is survived by: his parents, Bryant Hughes and Alice Hughes (Patterson); his wife Kathleen Straub; his children, Josh Claussen (Debra) and Michelle Austin (Chris); his siblings, Mark Hughes, Darin Hughes and Joy Fink (Bob); his grandchildren, Torsten Ray, Kasey Grant, Bryan Robert, Aksel Grant, Mackenzie Nichole, Sydney Grace and Harlequin Alice; and his aunt Phyllis Staplin. He is also survived by his parents, sister, brothers, son, daughter, family and many, many friends.
