He was predeceased by: his wife Janice Carolyn Gates; and his parents, Gracie Viola (Nelms) and Wilbert Gates. He is survived by: his former spouse Janise Carolyn McBride; his children, Nona Kay Gates of Moore, OK and Paul David Gates (Lisa R.) of Newcastle, OK; his grandchildren, Angela Etheridge (Chris), Brian Mowles (Angela), Preston Gates (Brittany) and Brandon Gates (Angela); and his sisters, Connie Dotson of Wynnewood, Betty Sue Leeman of Chelsea, Patsy Dobbins of Wynnewood and Vicky Eastwood of Wynnewood. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
