Vernon Ray Schmidt Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernon Ray Schmidt of Wilburton, Oklahoma, who passed away on November 7, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford P. Schmidt and Dessie Schmidt (Kehon); and his siblings, Margie, Berdena, Ann and Clayton Schmidt.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Kay Karstens-Schmidt; his children, Chad Schmidt of Burdett, Shannon Schmidt (Mary) of Rogers, Dusty Schmidt (Angel) of Gateway, Paul Karstens (Dena) of Wilburton, John Karstens (Pamela) of Greenwood, Libbie Landbeck (David) of Burdett and Lisa Vermillion (Dennis) of Wister, Oklahoma; and his siblings, Mary Koehn (Jerry) of Scooba, Mississippi, Wilford Schmidt (Diane) of Cimarron and Manford Schmidt of Plano, Texas. He is also survived by grandchildren; (19) great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Wilburton First Baptist Church (101 W Blair Ave, Wilburton, OK 74578).
