He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Hiatt and Oleta Hiatt (Muse). He is survived by: his wife Helen Hiatt (Prock); his sons, Mikel Hiatt of Whitesboro and Jerrod Hiatt of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and his siblings, Judy Hiatt of Red Oak, Oklahoma and Vince Hiatt (Donna). He is also survived by several cousins, nephews, and nieces.
