It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virla Sue Reece of Whitefield, Oklahoma, who passed away on January 27, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy C. Alverson and Minnie Alverson (Bray); her son David Newton; her siblings, Ruby Jenkins, Cubby Randolph, Harold, Doyle and Blondie Alverson; her son-in-law Johnny Pryor; and the father of her children Pat Newton.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Reece; her daughters, Connie Love (TIm) of West Liberty and Kim Pryor of West Liberty; her stepsons, Anthony Reece (Misty) of Plano, TX and Greg Reece of Wagoner; her grandsons, C. J. Pryor (Monica) of Briartown, Larry Pryor of West Liberty and Andrew Newton (Nancy) of Prairie Grove, AR; her great grandchildren, Chaseton, Libby, Cooper, Raven, David, Gabriel and Abigail; and her great great grandchildren, K. J. and Charlotte.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the King and Shearwood Funeral Home (808 E Main St, Stigler, OK 74462). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the R. E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel (808 E Main St, Stigler, OK 74462).
