He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Ann Smith-Alford and Edward Lee Alford, Sr.; his siblings, Sharon Annette Alford-Bruner and Edward L. Alford, Jr.; his grandparents, George, Bernice Alford, Hollis Earl Smith and Myrtle Webster-Wilson; his niece Dionisia R. Bruner; and his nephews, Carlos A. Duke, Brylon Edward Carr and Hunter Edward Carr.
He is survived by: his wife Rena Bruner-Alford; his daughters, Carla Madkins-Gilmore (Melvin) and Shamelia Janell Alford; his grandchildren, Dierre Olden, Dah'myah Olden and Steven D. Olden, Jr.; his siblings, Gary L. Alford, Brent L. Alford, G. Ray Alford (Tracey), Gloria Alford-Carr and Montria "DeeDee" Alford; his uncle Willie O. Alford (Jo Ann); and his aunts, Violet Patterson and Merdine Alford-Black. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
