He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Powell and Erta Gibson Powell; his son Shawn Powell; his great grandchild Tinley Powell; and his brothers, Freddie Powell of Jimmy Powell, R. D, Willard Powell, Walt Powell and Eddie Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Powell of Wewoka, OK; his son Stephen Powell (Patti) of Wewoka, OK; his stepchildren, Leah Bailey (Will Hudgens) of Dallas, TX and Dennis Bailey Jr. (SiSi) of Frederick, MD; his grandsons, Shane Powell (Taylor) of Wewoka, OK and Chase Powell (Lacey) of Wewoka, OK; and his great grandchildren, Addie Powell, Timber Powell, Cruz Powell, Sadie Powell and Trooper Powell.
