It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Birdie Elam of Wewoka, Oklahoma, who passed away on September 17, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Lloyd Votaw and Lona Irene Votax (Jorden); her husband Earnest Elam; and her children, Janet Marie Chekan and Charles Earl Elam.
She is survived by: her daughter Helen Jo Hodges (Debra Kay Ramey) of Wewoka; and her siblings, Bobbie Smith of California, Ruth Miller of California, Christine Votaw of Michigan and Lola Basurto of California. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.
