He is survived by: his wife Dolores; his children, Richard Chavez Jr. of Wetumka, Christopher Chaves of Yuma, James Chavez of Wetumka and Karen Chavez of Phoenix; and his siblings, Charles Chavez (Carole) of Roll, Rosemarie Aguiar of Tucson, Dora Fluker (Leroy) and Belinda C. Planche of Port Allen.
