He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi Vanzant and Mammie Vanzant (Lunsford); his spouse Bobbie Youngblood; his brother Gene; and his grandchildren, Troy Don, D. J. and Bobby Ron Vanzant.
He is survived by: his sons, Donny (Tina Vanzant), Steve Vanzant of Okemah, Terry Vanzant of Bristow and Gary Vanzant (Larry Vanzant) of Eufaula. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
