He was predeceased by: his parents, Bessie Smith (Johnson) and Noah Smith; and his siblings, Del Marie, Georgie, Ruby, Savannah, Verlita, Nola, Fannie, Johnny, Frank of Emery, LG, Willie, Floyd and Homer.

He is survived by: his wife Roberta Smith (Adams); his children, Amber Smith of Webbers Falls, Robbie Shade of Warner, OK, Noah Smith of Muskogee, OK, Elza Smith, Jr. of Webbers Falls, OK, Jacob Smith of Fort Smith, AR and Jeffrey Smith of Fort Smith, AR; his grandchildren, Randi Collins, Audrey Smith, Isaac Smith, Abigail Shade and Silas Shade; and his great grandchild Alaya Lynn. He is also survived by several other relatives and friends.
