He is survived by: his children, Scotty Dale (Catherine) of San Antonio, TX, Debra Morris (Ricky) of Weatherford, OK and Michael Smith (Jennifer) of New Braunfels, TX; his grandchildren, Paden Morris, Dacey Morris and Madison Smith; and his nephews, Lance (Candance Smith), Mike Howell and Monty (Anice Howell).

“Rory & I express our condolences with prayers to the family. We learned of Dale's passing today. Unfortunately, his days were numbered because he was determined to live HIS WAY. He left us with many memories. My favorite was when he iron-worked in New Jersey on a cold-windy-winter day. He headed to the elevator and his foreman yelled, "Where you going?" Dale yelled back, "I'm going to get my jacket". The foreman asked, "Where is it?" In Texas! Dale yelled back. Hector & Rory Cavazos”
