He was predeceased by: his parents, James Slater and Daisy Slater; and his daughter-in-law Tessa Martin. He is survived by: his brothers, Lewis Slater (Shirley) and John Slater (Lorna); his son Fred Slater (Lanna); his grandsons, Cody and Hunter Slater; his son Clay Martin; his grandsons, Garrick and Ryker Martin; his daughter Stacee Smiddy (Dax); his grandsons, Brack Slater, Braylee Turner, Charles and Oscar Smiddy; his daughter Garalyn Slater; and his grandchildren, Jalen Slater and Ariana Bruner. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
