Anita Arnett Obituary

Anita Arnett, age 68 of Wayne, passed away Monday, August 30, 2021. Anita Louise Harrington was born September 18, 1952 in Fort Campbell, KY, the oldest of 3 children born to Virgil Corby Harrington and Helen Louise (Brakefield) Harrington. The daughter of a career military man, Anita and family moved from base to base during her younger years.

There were stops in Germany and Okinawa and all over the United States. By 1967, they were settled in Wayne where Anita finished school, graduating with the Bulldog Class of 1970. She married young to Roger Self, and to this union, three children, daughters, Amy and Shandi and son, Jeremy were born. Anita worked a variety of jobs throughout the years.

She retired as a Roadside Assistant for the Hertz Corporation after nearly 20 years of dedicated service. She was a loving mother, and lived every day for her grandchildren. She enjoyed tending to her yard, and morning and evening visits on her porch swing. She will be dearly missed! She was preceded in death by: her father, Virgil Harrington; sister, Dana Worley and brother, Mike Harrington.

Anita is survived by: her mother, Helen Harrington of Wayne; Daughters, Amy Harmoning and Shandi Self, both of Wayne; Son, Jeremy Self and wife Ashley of Massillon, OH; her pride and joy, grandchildren, Taylor, Dylan, Ray, Madicyn and Lane and great grandchildren, Righteous and Legend, and a host of other family and friends.
