She was predeceased by: her parents, Bennett Thurmond and Nannie Thurmond (Crowder); and her spouse Lynn Bolden. She is survived by: her children, Nancy Gernentz, Shirl Barnes (Billy), Dianne (George), Virginia Compton (Robert), Lynnard Bolden and Phillip King; and her brother Ernie Thurmond. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.
