We bid farewell to LaVerne Evelyn Dawson of Wanette, Oklahoma, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 8, 2025 at the age of 96. LaVerne touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Asa L. Compton and Maudie Reecer Compton; her sons, Kenny Ray Dawson and Mark Edward Dawson; her husband Billy Joe Dawson; and her siblings, Claude, Clarence, Cecil, Clyde Compton, Lucille Suchy and Louise Kersey.
She is survived by: her granddaughters, Alisha Payne, Jennifer McClure, Melissa Dawson and Miranda Bullock. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cooper Funeral Home (210 W Walnut St, Tecumseh, OK 74873). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at the Wanette Cemetery.
