Jeremy Levi Grooms Obituary
Jeremy Levi Grooms came in to this world on June 2, 1980 in Claremore, Oklahoma. His parents, Judy Lawana Rice and Gary Dale Grooms, soon knew they were blessed by his presence in their lives.
Levi attended Wagoner High School and graduated with the Class of 1998. He went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University, which always remained near and dear to his heart.
Levi learned a strong work ethic from his family, and this served him well in his project manager career with American Electrical Power. He loved his job and was dedicated to setting goals and reaching them as planned. His family was not surprised at his success, because they already knew of his sharp mind and rational way of thinking. He was often the calm, quiet voice of reason.
That "get it done" attitude was helpful in Levi's second business of buying, fixing up and renting houses. He could do and fix anything and especially liked painting.
As a youngster Levi discovered he loved the outdoors, and any activities connected with it. He enjoyed being at the lake and boating, but his passion was trout fishing, in particular on the White River. He formerly liked hunting and still enjoyed hiking. He even traveled to Italy. There was a time when Levi and his family of friends went snow skiing every spring break. He was an avid golfer as well. He was a dedicated gardener and relished growing his flowers and shrubs.
Levi built many great memories with his family through the years. He loved his family. He was a very good father, and his best times were those spent with his children, Elsi and Jace, teaching them to enjoy some of the sports he enjoyed. They will cherish these memories forever.
No one ever really dies as long as they took the time to leave us with fond memories. ~Chris Sorensen.
Levi departed this life on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the age of 42 years. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joe and Helen Rice; father-in-law, Jeff Sasnett; uncle, Jay Hughes and cousins, Steven Rice and Jonathan Harry.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Charity Grooms; children, Elsi and Jace Grooms; mother, Judy Rice (Brent Hogan); father Gary Grooms (Sasha); paternal grandparents, Jerry and Louise Grooms; sisters, April Wakefield (Jace) and Lexie Grooms; brothers, Jeremy Hogan (Melissa), Josh Hogan (Jeana) and Joe Hogan (Miranda); uncles, David Rice (Diana), Steve Rice (Cherie), Troy Rice, Kelly Grooms (Sherry) and Jared Grooms (Katrina); aunt, Teresa Hughes; sister-in-law, Bethany Hearod (Carl); nephew, Eli Hearod; mother-in-law, Kathy Sasnett; other extended family and many friends.
