He was predeceased by: his parents, Rutherford Hays and Hazel Hays (Smith); and his siblings, Ruby Beasley, Laura Ann Heltzel, Robert and John Hays.

He is survived by: his daughter Debbie of Barnsdall, Oklahoma; and his siblings, Almeta Robertson (Jerry) of Bernice, Ima Jean Halstead of Bernice, Erma Lee Raven of Bernice and Lee Roy Hays (Ethel) of Vinita.
