He was predeceased by: his parents, Billie Coats and Lucille Coats; and his wife Linda. He is survived by: his children, Darrell Michael Coats of Tahlequah, Samuel Coats, Tomascheski of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Crystal Coats of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; his siblings, Lenord K. Coats of Pahrump, Kenneth L. Coats of Tahlequah, William Coats of Vinita, Oklahoma and Pamela Mast of Woodbridge, Virginia; and his grandchildren, Chelsea Long, Desirea Keener, Zoey Creel, Darrell Michael Coats II, Xander Coats and Xoe Coats.
