He was predeceased by: his mother Mary D.; and his siblings, Leroy, Donnie, Jerry and Carol.

He is survived by: his wife Doris Perry; his sons, Perry David Trotter (Kathy) and Trent B Trotter (Charlotte); his grandchildren, Taryn Lynn Trotter, Dalton Perry Trotter, Chancie, Sarah Kate Trotter, Tee Jay Trotter, Tuff Allen Trotter and Ally Taite Trotter; his great grandchildren, KeLee Lynn Curson and JoLee Paisley Curson; and his sister-in-law Wanda Perry Smith of Keene, TX. He is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vian FFA c/o Vian Public Schools.
