He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Kirkland and Virgie Stephenson; his siblings, Virgil, Jerry, Hobert Kirkland, Alline Vandenburg, Mindora Christian and Dorothy Wells; and his daughters, Linda Smith and Brenda Lessig.
He is survived by: his children, Kay Baker (Mike), Carl Kirkland (Tammy), Arleen Sechrist (Frank), Cecil Kirkland, Donald Kirkland (Krystal) and Pamela Kirkland; and his brother Lloyd Kirkland (Minnie). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter He survived by his nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
