Richie", "Rich" or "Doc" was born to George and Jenny Fiedler on January 9, 1945 in Smithtown, New York. Rich attended Smithtown High School and entered the military in 1964-1967, serving from 1966-1967 in the 173rd airborne as a paratrooper and medic in the Vietnam War for which he was awarded a Purple Heart and 2 Bronze Stars. Richard Married Wanda Mae Sweeden on March 4th in 1978 in Petaluma, California before they lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 28 years where they raised their family and owned an antique shop on Route 66 in Bristow, OK. Richard passed on September 6, 2018 in Dallas, Texas at the VA Hospital. He was predeceased by brothers Charlie Fiedler , William "Bill" Fiedler , and George Fiedler Jr. Richard is survived by his wife Wanda Fiedler , two daughters: Julia Fiedler Kramer, and Amy Altstatt, two grandchildren, siblings: Nancy Bertran, Karen Summers, Frank Fiedler , Bob Fiedler , and Ray Fiedler , 34 nieces/nephews, and over 45 great nieces/nephews. Richard's life was about loving people and making them feel important, sharing holidays with strangers, doting on his grandchildren, exploring less traveled roads across the country with his wife, Wanda and loving God above all else. He will be remembered for his depth of love for the Lord, people and life. Visitation will be at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 601 S. Tennessee St, McKinney, TX on Tuesday, September 11th 2018 from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Charles w. Smith & Sons Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12th, 2018. Rich will be laid to rest at Dallas National Cemetery on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 2:00 PM.
