He is survived by: his wife Michelle Spurgeon; his children, Jim Spurgeon (Chrissy), Paul Spurgeon (Suzy) and Debbie Chenault (Bill); his grandchildren, Andrew Perkins, Peter Spurgeon (Kat), Nate Spurgeon (Hailey), Sam Spurgeon (Riley Jo), Kate Chenault and Quin Chenault; his brothers, Joe Spurgeon (Mary Lou), Richard Spurgeon and Allen Spurgeon; and his siblings-in-law, Ben Van Horn, Jim Lawler (Stephanie), Stacey Seymour, Pat Sanford (Jerry) and Mary Ann Lowther. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

A rosary was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church (290 NW Church St, Krebs, OK 74554). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
