She was predeceased by: her parents, John H. McAlister and Dorothy E. McAlister (Hindes); her daughter Becky Simmons; and her siblings, John McAlister, Jr., Donna Boyer and Jackie Littou.

She is survived by: her husband Jim Forrest Smithheisler; her daughter Jimilea Jansson (Tony); her grandchildren, Shane Jansson (Elissa), Meghan Jansson (Stephen Nelson) and Keaton Simmons; and her great grandchildren, Cameron Jansson, Kaydance Jansson, Jaydeince Boatner and Cage Jansson.

Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be followed.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the hospice of the donor's choice.
