Funeral services for Judy June Guzman, 66, of Tom, OK, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial will follow at Barrett Cemetery in Edgewood.
Judy passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022.
Judy June Guzman was born on August 28, 1955, in Dallas, TX, to Rev. James Barrett and June Barrett Carter. Judy June was raised in Mesquite where she graduated from high school. She worked for Silver Leaf Nursing Home as a nurse's aide in Garland as well as Luby's Cafeteria. Judy June married Rev. Robert Guzman in Capp City, TX, on September 27, 1997, and they made their home in Mesquite. She and Rev. Robert moved to Eustace for six months, then to Broken Bow, OK, for twelve years and then on to Tom, OK, until her death. Judy June worked as a house keeper for the Broken Bow Inn and the Holiday Inn in Idabel. She also worked for Broken Bow Nursing Home and Southeast Nursing Home in Oklahoma. Judy June was a member of Chapel of the Pines SBC where she loved to teach Sunday school for the little ones for over ten years. She then became Co-Pastor with her husband Rev. Robert at Boles Southern Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday school. Judy June also had a love for horses and enjoyed horseback riding.
She is preceded in death by her father, Rev. James Barrett; brother, Eddie Barrett; and loving mother-in law, Celia Guzman.
Judy June is survived by her husband, Rev. Robert Guzman of Tom, OK; mother, June Barrett Carter and husband, Steve of Jefferson, OK; sons, Cody Henson of Idabel, OK, and Anthony Henson and wife, Michelle of Durant, OK; brothers, Benny Barrett and wife, Nonie of Dallas, TX, Paul Barrett and wife, Helenice of Mabank, TX, and Danny Barrett and wife, Sharla of Mesquite, TX; sister, Barbara Strebeck Barrett and husband, Ronaldo of Mesquite, TX; many brothers-in law and sisters-in law; numerous loving nieces and nephews and two beautiful granddaughters, Allyssa and Sophia Shoemake.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, February 18, 2022, at Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
In memory of my loving, beautiful wife, Judy, she was a wonderful mother and grandmother that prayed for her children daily with love and compassion. She was loved by all who knew her. "I will love you as far as the East is from the West. Farewell my sweet Judy, until we meet again.".
