He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Nell Marie O'Neal Maple and Jim Maple; his grandfather John; his granddaughter Catherine "Kate" Germar-Maple; his wife Connie; his brothers, Jim Maple (Patty) and Joe Maple (Kathy); his children, Rebecca Russell (Wayne), Rachel Huddleston, John Maple II and Joel Maple (Tomi); and his grandchildren, Mason Russell, Cole Russell, Dillon Russell, Austin Maple, Ethan Huddleston, Tori Valentine, Alli Valentine, Devon Maple, Carys Maple and Livi Huddleston.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Mayo Clinic, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or the March of Dimes.
