He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Helzer and Violet Helzer (Wanzer); his sister Eileen Ames; and his brothers-in-law, Lyle Combs and Jim Ames.
He is survived by: his wife Henrietta Helzer of Fay; his children, Deana Garner (Don), Steve Helzer (Joy) and Kathy Sweeney (Tom); his siblings, Shirley Combs and Gary Helzer (Monica); his grandchildren, James Garner (Kristi), Deena Craighead (Cliff), Kelli Doty (J. J.), Teena Rodgers (Jimmy), Stephen Helzer (Janette), Krista Taylor (Lane) and Kaitlyn Cameron (William); his great grandchildren, Gaige Reese (Baron), Lauren Brown (Michael), Kenzie Craighead, Daeven, Rhys Cameron, Hudson, Graham, Aubrey Taylor, Ashley O'Brecht, Josh Doty, Macee, Ryann Richardson and Camden Helzer; and his great great grandchildren, Madalynn Kellogg, Braxton and Weston O'Brecht.
