He is survived by: his wife Julia Bird; his sons, Dale Thomas Bird, Jr. (Delva) and Doug Bird; his sisters, Janice Cunningham and Carol Jones; his grandchildren, Dale Thomas Bird III, Dalena Black, Dalton Bird and Daley Bird; and his great grandchildren, Mattie and Rhett Black.
