With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barton Ray Wherritt (Thomas, Oklahoma), born in Elk City, Oklahoma, who passed away on September 23, 2024 at the age of 79. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Barton Ray Wherritt to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Wherritt and Ina Wherritt (South); his in-laws, Marie and Coval Tharp; and his granddaughter Maci Wherritt.

He is survived by: his wife Karen Joyce; his children, Rodney (Roshelle), Butch (Kasey), Renae Haymaker (Drew) and Kristi Wherritt; his siblings, Wendi Brimmer (Bob) and Phil Wherritt (Jane); his grandchildren, Kole (Taylor Wherritt), Regan (Hayden Lemieux), Kaleb Schrock, Rosalind (Kelby White), Rayne Wherritt and Jesse Haymaker; and his great grandchildren, Tripp, Shea, Reece, Hazelle, Hillery and Walker.

Contributions in Barton's honor may be made to the First Baptist Church of Thomas.
