He was predeceased by: his parents, Millard Owen and Ruby Lee Rains (Boggs); his brother Millard "Charles" Rains; his father-in-law Blair Mitchell; and his brother-in-law Paul Limerick.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Yvonne Rains; his sons, Donald Wayne Rains (Dana) of Thackerville and Weldon Gene Rains (Donna) of Gainesville, TX; his stepson Travis J. Hamilton of Oakland, CA; his sister Lennie Faye Rains-Sewell (Roy) of Gainesville; his mother-in-law Anna Marie Bond; his grandchildren, David Rains (Shannon) of Lubbock, TX, Brandon Ferguson of Ft. Worth, TX, Ashley Knabe (John) of Muenster, TX, Jamie Perkins (Michael) of Shady Side, MD, Caleb Rains (Kayla) of Thackerville, Matthew Peelman (Andrea) of Aransas Pass, TX and Kyra Boling (Waylon) of Ranger, TX; and his great grandchildren, River, Reese Rains, Savanna Ferguson, Henry, Dax Knabe, Memphis and Ella Rains.
