He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Fred Whiteman and Mary Lorraine Chambers; his former wife Ruth Cross; his wife Nita Gay; his daughters, Patricia Sunday (Dennis) of Terlton, Cathy Downey and Brenda Emery of Collinsville; his stepchildren, Sally, James, Sandra, John, Sara and Andy; his sisters, Margarete, Nadine, Ruth, Noma, Mary and Donna; and his grandchildren, Denny, Tina, Denise, Patricia, Richelle, Trey and Charlie. He was also cherished by numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren nieces and nephews.
