He was predeceased by: his parents, William Columbus "Shorty" Johnson and Serena Kate Johnson. He is survived by: his friend Martha Sebring of Choctaw, OK; his children, Walter Johnson Jr. of Macomb, OK and Deanna Bergeron (Gary) of Shawnee, OK; his grandchildren, Ronnie Johnson (Amanda) of Macomb, OK, Robert Johnson (Michelle) of Norman, OK, Mitchell Bergeron of Norman and Melissa Bergeron of Norman; his great grandchildren, Katie Barriga, Megan Swift, Amanda Johnson, Sarah Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Mason Johnson, Brooklynn Johnson, Emily Johnson and Kyrie Bergeron; and his great great grandchildren, Mikah Barriga and Elizabella Barriga. He is also survived by other extended family and friends.
