He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe E. Thompson and Nancy Gail Thompson (Burk); and his grandparents, Carl, Jick Thompson, Herbert and Maude Burk.

He is survived by: his brother Bobby Joe Thompson of Coweta, OK; and his friends, Lloyd Kester, Greg Clinton, Carl Raper, Jeff Raper, Australian Shepherd and Frosty. He is also survived by one niece, two nephews, one great nephew along with numerous cousins.
