He was predeceased by: his parents, Mercedes Braden and Frank Braden; his wife Vesta; and his son Matthew. He is survived by: his children, Carol Laws (Bill) of Cookson, Joe Braden (Deborah) of Tulsa, Cathy O'Bannon (Hugh) of Cookson, Debbie Yager of Cookson and Greg Braden of Cookson; and his sister Jan Sykes. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, Many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, friends may consider a donation to their favorite charity in his honor.
