She was predeceased by: her parents, Sherman Shaffer and Reta Johnson Shaffer; her husband L. D. Hayes; her son Arthur Lee Hayes (Bill Hayes); and her sisters, Doris and Lucille.
She is survived by: her son Sherman Hayes (Zelma); her grandchildren, Amy Beth Orrison (Matthew) and Jon Michael Hayes; her stepgrandchildren, David B. Bailey, Jr., Leslie Maker and Neisha Wilson; her great grandchildren, Coty Jon Hayes, Conner James Hayes and Dylan Orrison; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Jace Maker and Caden Wilson.
