With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edith Stephens of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, who passed away on January 6, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Tony Stephens; her parents, Lloyd Daniel Hazen (Gramp) and Ivy Pearl Niemeyer; and her siblings, Jim, Ted, Sarah Bryce and Don.
She is survived by: her close friend Glenna Narramore Pendergast; her aunts, Ruth Harbor and Edith Gettier; her son Charles; her close friends, Peggy Shelton, Gerry Sellers, Lora Dupree, Marge Stelzer, Carol Laird and Lee Watson; her children, Chuck Stephens (Billie) of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Val Dobbins (Mark) of Tahlequah, OK and Stephanie Reed (Scott) of Houston, TX.; her grandchildren, Jyme Vaughn (Aaron), Stephanie Gray (Joe), Sydney Day (Sean), Britt Dobbins (Kayla), Mitch Reed and Sarah Reed; her great grandchildren, Jadyn Lowe, Joseph Gray Jr., Laine Gray and Cole Day; her granddaughter Lisa Clem; her brother-in-law Eddy Stephens (Helen) of Leakey, TX; and her nieces and nephews, Danny, Susie, Keith, Beverly, Jody and Mary Ann.
Viewing was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hart Funeral Home- Tahlequah (1506 N Grand Ave, Tahlequah, OK 74464). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church (746 N Cedar Ave, Tahlequah, OK 74464). A burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at the Holland Cemetery.
