He was predeceased by: his mother Safrona Davenport-Standefer; his grandfathers, John Carroll Standefer (Lula Hulsey-Standefer) and John Wesley Davenport (Cordelia Evans-Davenport); his father Robert Standefer; his siblings, Joyce Cocke and Bobby Standefer (Margaret); his sons, William Edward Standefer, Terry Lynn Rains and Dale Alan Standefer; and his granddaughter Sheridan Elizabeth Standefer.

He is survived by: his former wife Juanita Craft; his wife Margaret Ruth Davis Rains; his children, Bill Rains (Martha) of Tulsa, OK, Kay Hyde (Pete), Tony Rains (Jan) of Jenks, OK, Paul Standefer of Arcata, CA and Robert Rains (Marilyn) of Bixby, OK.; his sister Pat Robbins of Durant, OK.; and his grandchildren, Michael Rains, Julie Rains, Jeremy Rains, Mandy Dye, Tyler Rains, Tara Rains, Melissa James, Aaron Slay, Matt Hyde, Kelli Keniston, Kerrie McDaniel, Ben Standefer, John Standefer, Chantelle Standefer and Jared Standefer-Frazier.
