He was predeceased by: his parents, William E. Phillips and Grace A. Phillips (Drake); his brothers, Edwin Phillips and Stephen Phillips; his nieces, Tamera Drake and Tracey Rotrock; and his great-nephew Marion Kitchens, III (George).

He is survived by: his children, Robert Phillips (Vergie), Tonia Crittenden (Kent) and Matthew Phillips (Jennifer); his granddaughters, Angela Bazaldua (Antonio), Jennifer Crittenden and Samantha Phillips; his sisters-in-law, Betty Phillips and Diane Phillips; his great grandchildren, Tyler, Tucker Bazaldua, Eloise Bazaldua and Avery Crittenden; his nephews, Scott Phillips (Debbie), Jason Phillips (Tanya) and Michael Phillips; and his niece Kristin Merrill (Tony).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Tunnel to Towers or St. Jude's Children's Research or the charity of your choice.
