He was predeceased by: his parents, Vertus Newton and Juanita Newton (Richey); his granddaughter Amanda Newton; and his brother Lavon Newton. He is survived by: his wife Regenia A. McBee; his sons, Dwayne Newton (Annie) of Norman and Shawn Newton (Rena) of Ardmore; his stepdaughter Denise Coffey (Mike) of Ardmore; his grandchildren, Jacob Newton, Sam Newton, Wayne Coffey, Derek Coffey (Kayla) and Beth Clinton (Johnny); his great grandchildren, Kaylee and Emma; and his sister Sally Zable of Edmond.
