Marjorie Dell Frost Obituary

Marjorie "Margie" Dell Gossett was born on October 25, 1940, in Muskogee, Oklahoma and took her last earthly breath on August 20, 2023, in Fort Smith, Arkansas surrounded by her loved ones.

Margie was the daughter of Jimmie Margaret and Edward Louis Clark and is older sister to Eddie Clark. She spent her younger years in Indianola, Oklahoma and later moved to McAlester, Oklahoma where she graduated from high school.

After high school she moved to Ada, Oklahoma, married, and had two children. She completed her degrees in Physical Education and Education at East Central State University. She taught at the Oklahoma State School for the Deaf for 29 years until she retired. In 1977, she divorced and in 1981 she married the love of her life, Gary Frost.

Gary and Margie made their home in Sulphur and were inseparable. Many strive to have a love like theirs. They loved to travel and would often take their van on long road trips. One of their favorite places to visit together was Deadwood, South Dakota. While in Sulphur, you could often find them together, strolling hand in hand at the Chickasaw National Park, stopping for milkshakes at Braum's or eating breakfast at Boomerang.

Margie was very generous with her many talents. Making quilts for family and friends was one of her favorite hobbies and if you knew Margie and you were having a baby or getting married, chances were, you were the lucky recipient of her unique and beautiful hand-made quilts.

Margie was an expert at crossword puzzles and there wasn't anyone who could write a more enjoyable Haiku than she. She was very witty and quirky and could come up with a comeback quicker than you could snap your fingers. She enjoyed seeing many of her former students around town and would always interact with them and introduce them to whomever family member was with her at the time.

One of the greatest joys in Margie and Gary's life together was being called Gammy and Pa G. They spoiled their grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved them so deeply. Any chance Gammy had, she was telling you a story about one of her grandchildren or great grandchildren. She was a very proud Gammy who gave great Eskimo and butterfly kisses.

Margie was beautiful, intelligent, strong, resilient, and brave. She always had a smile which lit up her whole face.

We will miss her so much but know that her love and magic will always live on in her husband, her children, her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. She was absolutely adored by all who knew her.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her mother, Jimmie Margaret Clark, her father, Edward Louis Clark, both of McAlester and her biological father, Rell Gossett who died when Marjorie was two years of age.

Marjorie is survived by her forever protector, husband and soul mate, Gary Frost, her children, Kerri Dawn Sales-Geiger (Robert Geiger) of Logan, Utah, Ronnie Don Sales Jr. (Susan) of Joplin, Missouri, and Terra Frost (Hayley) of Carrollton, Texas. Her grandchildren, Christy Knighton (Chris) of Utah, Carson Geiger (Tiffanie) of Utah, Cody Sales (Ashley) of Missouri, and Cooper Frost of Texas. Her great-grandchildren are Jorie (her little namesake), Lucy, Ada, Lincoln and C.J.

We love you, Margie, Mommy, Aunt Margie and Gammy!!!Cremation was "Entrusted To" HALE'S Funeral Home of Sulphur, OK.

Rayven wrote a sympathy message

“I was one of Margie’s CNA’s and spent almost every day with her for almost 4 months. We became very close, and she was the first person I visited every day. I miss her so very much and it’s been so hard to come to work and not be greeted by her with a huge smile on her face and her arm’s wide open for me. She touched the heart of everyone she ever met and made sure you left her presence with a smile on your face. I will never forget her, her warm hugs, her orneryness, and the laughs we shared.”

“She is my mother and I miss her so much! Not having a funeral or celebration of her life, makes this experience not seem real. She gave the best Eskimo kisses and her grandkids, kids and great grandchildren will miss her so much. She made the best quilts and retired from OSD. She meant the world to us. She was a good woman and moved from Ada to Sulphur in 1979. We love you and miss you so much! I love you more! As long as I’m living, my Mommy you’ll be! Kerri Sales-Geiger”

“We do not know where to begin, letting you know that Margie was dear to both of us. Always full of energy, enthusiasm, letting you know what she was thinking and how she felt. She would light up a room when discussing her entire family, But the grand and great grandchildren really lit her up. She loved to tell us about the trips she and Gary would take, along with all the fun experiences. We feel that we know all of you by our conversations. We loved Margie Frank & Jerri Starns”
